Tim Vlandas is an associate professor of comparative social policy at University of Oxford where he also is an associate member of Nuffield College and a fellow of St Antony’s College. His main area of expertise is in comparative political economy, with a particular interest in the relationship between electoral politics, public policies and socio-economic outcomes.
At the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES), Vlandas will work on a monograph on the political economy of ageing, funded by the British Academy. The project will theorize and explore the political consequences of ageing for economic performance.
Vlandas holds a Ph.D. in political economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His research has appeared in over 50 publications in leading international academic journals, including in Comparative Political Studies, Perspectives on Politics, and the European Journal of Political Research.
