Biography
Sven Rahner is head of secretariat of the National Skills Strategy task force at the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. He works on issues such as the future of work and welfare in the digital age. He previously worked as a policy advisor in the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs at the German Bundestag.
Rahner has published two books on the future of work and education: Fachkräftemangel und falscher Fatalismus (The Shortage of Skilled Labor and False Fatalism, Campus 2018) and Architekten der Arbeit (Architects of Work, Körber 2014). He regularly writes articles on labor and social policy.
He studied, taught and conducted research at the University of Heidelberg, the University of Kassel, the University of Toronto, and the Hertie School of Governance. Rahner holds a Master’s Degree in political science from the University of Heidelberg and a Ph.D. in economics and social science from the University of Kassel.
