Dara Hassanzadeh has been a foreign correspondent for Germany's public TV channel ZDF since 2000. His reports and documentaries have won several awards, including the CNN International Award, the Axel Springer Preis, and the Georg von Holtzbrinck Preis. He was also nominated for a Prix Europa by the Green Vision Film Festival of St. Petersburg where he served as a jury member in the late 2000s.
Since the Russia's invasion four years ago, Hassanzadeh has spent between three to four months in Ukraine to report on the war.
