Pierpaolo holds an AB magna cum laude from Harvard University and an MPhil from Cambridge. He was Lt. Charles Henry Fiske III Scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge and more recently Ernest May Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a strategic advisor to the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET) and the Berggruen Council on the Future of Europe in addition to leading research activities at Greenmantle. His first book, Hitler's Shadow Empire: The Nazis and the Spanish Civil War will be published by Harvard University Press in 2015. He is fluent in Italian, Spanish and French.
