Binder is a research fellow in the research unit Transnational Conflicts and International Institutions at the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB). His research interests include international institutions, military intervention, and human rights. He is currently working on a book manuscript on the selectivity of United Nations responses to humanitarian crises after the Cold War. Another research project assesses voting in the UN General Assembly to examine the patterns and processes of conflict and opposition in world politics. Martin Binder received a PhD from the Freie Universitӓt Berlin in fall 2009. He will be a WZB fellow at CES from January through April 2013.
