Congratulations to CES Affiliates on Receiving 2025 APSA Awards

Three CES Affiliates were presented with 2025 APSA Organized Section Awards (Sections 21-40). In an effort to bring attention to exceptional scholarship, many of APSA Organized Sections have established more than 100 awards honoring dissertations, papers, articles, books, and career achievement. The purpose of the "European Politics and Society" section is to promote comparative discussion, research and debate about the changing sociology of politics, the state and social structures in modern Western Europe.


CES Local Affiliate Volha Charnysh received the Best Book Award for her book Uprooted, How Post-WWI Population Transfers Remade Europe.

Former CES Ramón Areces Fellow and Visiting Scholar (2024-2025) Alberto López Ortega received the Best Article Award for his piece entitled “Instrumentally Inclusive: The Political Psychology of Homonationalism.” American Political Science Review 118(3): 1360-1378. 2024.

CES Seminar Chair Caterina Chiopris received the Ernst B. Haas Best Dissertation Award for her piece “Regional Inequalities and Spatial Integration: Essays on the Political Economy of Europe.”
