Want to strengthen the research design behind your thesis? This session will help you move from a compelling idea to a concrete, achievable plan. This session will introduce strategies for designing effective qualitative research, from identifying archives and interview subjects to refining your data collection and analysis methods. You’ll learn how to think critically about sources, approach interviews with purpose, and organize your findings for clarity and impact. This workshop will give you the methodological grounding you need to make your research both rigorous and feasible. We will also cover practical advice for working in Europe as a field site.

About

If you are a Harvard College student interested in writing a senior thesis, consider attending the Thesis Workshop for Juniors organized by the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) to help you navigate through the daunting process. This session is the fourth one in this workshop series designed to:

  • build fundamental skills for writing a successful thesis.
  • access the best methods and practices for remote learning and research.
  • showcase the work of seniors who are completing their research.
