How can generative AI strengthen investigative journalism rather than weaken it? Drawing on cross-border investigations and newsroom experiments, Sotiris Sideris explores the methods journalists are developing to integrate AI tools responsibly. Sideris will present examples from Greece and Europe's tourism, pharmaceutical and energy industries to look at what AI can and cannot do in investigative work; how journalists can hold power to account with new technologies; and why transparency and trust remain central in an age of automation.
