For decades, Greece ranked high on bureaucratic inefficiency and low on competitiveness. Over the last four years, Greece launched an historic and systematic effort to fully digitize the country by 2025 in order to reduce bureaucracy, help the country converge with the EU’s Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) and ultimately, empower citizens. As a result, Greece was one of the first nations to have a digital vaccination certification system and a vaccine appointment platform. Since 2019, more than 1500 public services have been digitized and Greek citizens made more than 1.2 billion digital transactions in 2022.

Join us as we welcome the driving force behind this transformation, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Greece’s Minister of Digital Governance and Harvard alumnus, who will discuss these reforms and their impact.
