Now in its 19th year, the Boston Turkish Film Festival continues its tradition of highlighting leading and new Turkish filmmakers. This year’s program features several guest appearances by directors, and a number of films making their US premiere. The festival’s film program is set to run from March 19th to April 5th at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

In December 2019 Boston Turkish Film Festival was awarded with a special commendation by the prestigious Boston Society of Film Critics for "bringing work by emerging and established filmmakers of the Turkish cinema to Boston audiences".

The festival opens with acclaimed director Emin Alper’s, A Tale of Three Sisters (Kızkardeşler), which made its world premiere at the Berlinale—where it competed for best film—and won the Heart of Sarajevo Award for best director at the Sarajevo Film Festival and the CICAE Art Cinema award. There will be a Q+A with director, Emin Alper, and a reception with live Turkish music.
