Wolfgang Münchau

Wolfgang Münchau is an associate editor of the Financial Times, and writes a weekly column about the European Union and the European economy. Before taking up his current position at FT in September 2003, he was co-editor of Financial Times Deutschland for two years, and prior to that covered Frankfurt and economics for the Financial Times. He recieved the Society of American Business Editors and Writers award for best international columnist in 2012.

In 2006, along with Susanne Mundschenk, Münchau founded Eurointelligence, a highly regarded internet-based platform for news and analysis of the Eurozone's politics, finance and economics; he remains active as its co-director. www.eurointelligence.com


Münchau has also written several books in German and English, notably including The Meltdown Years: The Unfolding of the Global Economic Crisis (2009).
