Droessler received his master’s degree in American Cultural History from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich in 2008. In his master thesis he explored the transatlantic debates about the Afro-German occupation children after World War II. His research interests center on the history of the long and global nineteenth century, especially US and European imperialism. Currently he is working on a history of imperialism, racism, and capitalism in the Pacific at the turn of the twentieth century.
