Biography

Magda Romanska

Romanska is associate professor of theatre at Emerson College, and a recipient of the Aquila Polonica Article Prize and the Gerald Kahan Scholar’s Prize. Her books include The Post-traumatic Theatre of Grotowski and Kantor (2012), Boguslaw Schaeffer: An Anthology (2012), Comedy: Theory and Criticism (forthcoming 2014), and The Routledge Companion to Dramaturgy (forthcoming in 2013). Her current research is entitled, “Postcolonial Approaches to Eastern European Drama.” A former exchange scholar at the Yale School of Drama and fellow at the Mellon School of Theatre and Performance Research at Harvard, Romanska graduated from Stanford and holds a PhD from Cornell University.
