Biography

Constanze Stelzenmüller

Constanze Stelzenmüller studied law in Bonn and Geneva (1979-1985), with a focus on constitutional, European, and international law. She was a McCloy Scholar at Harvard Kennedy School (MPA 1988), then a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School (1988–1989). Her doctoral thesis on direct democracy in the United States was published by Nomos in 1994. Her career in journalism began as an intern at the Berlin daily Der Tagesspiegel from 1992–1993 and she then worked at the weekly Die Zeit in Hamburg from 1994 onwards, first as a reporter Marshall Fund (GMF) of the United States Berlin office from 2005–2009 and is currently a Senior Transatlantic Fellow with the GMF in Berlin. She was a John F. Kennedy Memorial Policy Fellow at CES in October 2010.
