The Ash Center and digital HKS invite you to a discussion on European and American approaches to tech policy. Joining us will be Henri Piffaut, a senior advisor with the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission. At the European Commission, Piffaut served as a member of Margrethe Vestager’s technical team and has a unique insight into the Commission’s policy aims and anti-competition actions against such tech giants as Alphabet, Apple, and Facebook. Piffaut will discuss the European approach to technology regulation and how it differs from the more hands-off approach of American policymakers. He will be joined by Muriel Rouyer and David Eaves from HKS. Lunch will be provided.
