16th Annual Boston Turkish Film & Music Festival will run from March 16 - April 23, 2017.

The Festival opens on Thursday, March 16, 7:30 p.m., at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, with the screening of "61 Days" (Iftarlik Gazoz) by director Yuksel Aksu. Q&A with the director and festival opening reception follow the screening.

16th Annual Boston Turkish Film & Music Festival will run from March 16 - April 23, 2017.

Film program of the Festival continues until April 2nd with the screenings of 25 high-caliber films at MFA, most making their North America premieres and/or currently in competition in international festivals. All films are in Turkish with English subtitles unless otherwise noted.


The 2017 Boston Turkish Festival Excellence in Turkish Cinema will be presented to acclaimed actor and director Ugur Yucel on Friday, March 24th, at 7:30 p.m. after the screening of "Mr. Muhsin" (Muhsin Bey).


The award recipient directors of the BTF Documentary & Short Film Competition will be attending a ceremony after the screenings of their films, followed by a panel discussion moderated by film critic Peter Keough on Saturday, March 25th.


Music program of the Festival continues from April 6th until April 22nd with a series of concerts.

The music program of the Festival begins on Thursday, April 6th with violinist Jülide Yalçın, the concertmeister of Ankara Presidential Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Elif Önal. On Thursday, April 13th, Burcu Karadağ, first professional female neyzen of Turkey, and internationally acclaimed kanun virtuso Tahir Aydoğdu will be performing in an exceptional concert, preceded by a kanun and ney workshop. Neotolia's album release concert for "Neotolian Song" will be on Saturday, April 22nd, with many distinguished artists joining Neotolia as guest musicians.

All concerts will take place at the Goethe-Institut Boston.
