Featuring former European Commissioner for Competition Joaquin Almunia, this event will highlight recent changes in the Eurozone decision-making process and governance as a response to the European crisis. Mr. Almunia will analyze the role of actors, such as the European Central Bank, European Council, European Commission, and national monetary authorities. He will also examine some of the key challenges confronting the monetary union governance and the perceived distance between citizens and monetary authorities in the EMU.
